Coach Sam Degelia is in his 11th year as the head coach of the Bowie Bulldogs and has been coaching baseball at Bowie for 25 years. Coach “D” has lived in Austin his entire life. He and his wife Rebecca have one son, Slyder Luke.
Coach Degelia attended Travis High School, where he played baseball for former Bowie coach Rudy Alvarez. After high school he played baseball for Texas State University and Concordia Lutheran College, and received his degree in Exercise Sports Science and Special Education. He spent two years as a coach at Travis before moving with Coach Alvarez to Bowie.
